Pulled Pork BBQ! Two Ways!!

So it was Labor Day Weekend, and these girls did all the LABOR!! They labored all night long, and it sure paid off! My last post was all about the "pregame" to this pulled pork bar-b-q! First we dry-rubbed, then we "sauced" then we let the crock-pots do all the work! All night! And this is what we ended up with!! This tender, juicy, falling off the bone succulent pork!! So, the pork shoulders were in the crock-pot, on low, for literally 10-12 hours. Then, I turned them off after checking and let them rest for another hour. I used big "throw-away" pans to pull the meat off the bones and "platter up" all that pork! I ladled a good 2-3 cups of that sauce on top of the pork (I had two shoulders). You can use a fork to shred the pork, but I used rubber gloves and my hands, and it was perfect! We stayed loyal to the BBQ theme, and these "sides" showed up at the party! Some "hopped-up" baked beans and cool creamy slaw! And here's one of my favorite Labor Day pulled pork eaters... Dinner Ella's way! A big soft potato roll filled with juicy pulled pork and slaw with some sides! YUMMM!!! OR... soft tortillas filled with pulled pork and creamy slaw, cilantro zucchini slaw... delish! In honor of Labor Day, we'd like to sincerely thank the pigs and the pots that made this pulled pork bbq a sweet-tangy savory success!! And HUGE shout out to all the pot luck participants!! Sheryl's black bean-corn salsa and zucchini-slaw, Mimi's creamy slaw, and Donna's green salad! Food you love with people you love even more!!
